We exist because helping communities modernize their operating systems is one of the most important, and least supported, leadership challenges in public education.

System transformation means intentionally building the operating system needed for the future while continuing to serve students well today. What we understand about the nervous system should be at the core of how the K–12 operating system works, creating the conditions for every student and adult, especially neurodiverse and marginalized students, to experience safety, belonging, and environments that support learning.

It means reimagining how and where learning happens, designing around a deep understanding of students and families and the experiences we want to create with them, preparing people to work in new ways, bringing community partners more fully into the learning ecosystem, and harnessing technology in ways that reflect shared values.

America has undertaken ambitious transformations before when changing conditions demanded more than incremental improvement. We believe public education has reached such a moment.
